Navigating Information Pollution with God’s Grace with Kirsten Schmidt

Maybe you know the feeling... you find yourself thinking about your body image struggles or those familiar food hurdles, so you go to social media or podcasts or audiobooks to see what you can learn. And it seems you can't stop scrolling. Somehow you look up and hours have gone by. And then the shame spiral begins.

Well, friend, there’s NO shame here! You aren't facing this battle alone. So, what can you do when you notice something isn't enhancing your life or your walk with Jesus?

Kirsten Schmidt returns to the podcast to discuss what information pollution is, how the enemy uses it to keep us stuck, how it prevents root cause solutions, and what to do when you first notice you’re shaming yourself.

Food issues or not, this episode can help you navigate digital clutter through a Gospel lens.

In this episode, we cover:

  • What information pollution is

  • How information pollution is tied to The Fall

  • How information pollution prevents root cause solutions

  • If it’s possible to find helpful advice or support on social media

  • What’s fueling information pollution

  • Why it always seems like we’re finding new information

  • How information pollution affects us hitting our goals

  • How lack is tied to this information overload

  • What to do when you find yourself feeling shame

  • When to consider a social media detox

  • This is for us to become aware and enlightened about a tool that the enemy uses to disconnect us from one another, ourselves, and the Lord. And now that we know, we can start to take steps toward changing the situation.

One step at a time—that is how we pull away from self-sabotage, overwhelm, and the digital clutter in our brains. And get back into an intentional connection with Jesus.
