Unburdened: Jesus’ Invitation to a Better Way with Ruth Harper

In this episode with longtime FINDINGbalance friend Ruth Harper, we gently explore Jesus’ invitation to us in Matthew 11:28-30. Experiencing a yoke with Jesus in a loving and supportive way comes more easily to some than to others. It’s related to what’s happening in your individual attachment system.

 
We dig deep into what a “yoke” is and how to choose a supportive yoke. And lastly, we explore how attachment styles (or attachment theory) beautifully tie into the conversation about yokes. (You’ll also get an update about Chrissy’s social media detox!)
 
A big focus of this episode is that Jesus wants to unburden you from your struggles. He deeply desires to walk alongside you. And while that may seem a world away from where you are right now, let this be your reminder that you don’t have to carry it all.

Ruth Harper is a Registered Dietitian who owns a solo private practice near Pittsburgh, PA where she works with clients seeking recovery from eating disorders or who are seeking repair of their relationship with food and body. Ruth enjoys biking, hiking, running, and studying the Bible with friends. She has been married for over 30 years, and treasures spending time with her 2 adult sons, their wives, and 5 delightful grandchildren.
