The last six months have been filled with hard questions, tears, and challenging yet affirming conversations about the future of FINDINGbalance.
As a small nonprofit doing a lot of big things these past 17 years, there has been a continual tension between the passion to serve those battling food issues with quality Christ-centered programs, and the time required to focus on fundraising in order to sustain that mission.
After much counsel, prayer and wrestling with God, we have come to a place of peaceful acceptance that he is calling this chapter of FINDINGbalance to a close. The story is more detailed than I can fit here, so we are creating ways for your questions to be answered, such as in the video posted on this page, and in some open Zoom chats I will be hosting later this week (see below).
LET’S JOURNEY THROUGH THIS DIFFICULT SEASON TOGETHER.
If our ministry has touched your life in some way, we know this news is probably hard to hear. We’ve had six months to grapple with it but you’re hearing it for the first time, and we know that for some of you it will feel pretty intense.
REMEMBER THAT YOU ARE NOT ALONE.
We are committed to walking with our Lasting Freedom members to the final group’s graduation next July, which means we’re not just suddenly disappearing. We want to do things right to end well and leave a legacy, for ALL of our extended FINDINGbalance family. So whether you’re an Insta friend or a Daily Vitamin reader, a donor, member or professional colleague, we invite you to journey with us these next several months through the grief, the questions, and also the celebration of the GOOD things which God has done. Because we know that with endings come new beginnings, and we know that God is with us (and you!) every step of the way.
YOU ARE OUR FAMILY.
Let’s lean into the pain – and HOPE! – together.
