Introducing... Missi Hale!

In Spring of 2006, Constance will have a special guest with her at select speaking engagements: Centricity Records recording artist Missi Hale. Originally from Washington State, Missi has many songwriting and recording credits to her name, ranging from touring as a background vocalist for American Idol's RJ Helton to appearing in a guest ensemble for Disney's 50th Anniversary Electric Light Parade, to having one of her songs featured in the Disney Movie "Lifesize" (Lindsay Lohan, Tyra Banks). In April 2005, she also served as Musical Director for "Making Peace with Imperfection", an original stage production conceived and produced by Constance/Fb.com. A recovering disordered eater with a passion for bucking cultural pressures, Missi is not only a fantastic vocalist and performer, but also an inspiration to all who seek freedom from eating and body image issues. A Word from Missi...

Throughout my life I've confused real truth and greatness with my own flawed perceptions. As a result, for much of my life I was a perfectionist - still am to a degree. Then, somewhere along the road between striving for perfection and settling for mediocrity, I tripped and fell across and invisible line. A voice inside whispered, "You're going too far. Right here, in the middle, is where you need to be." As uncomfortable as it was to give up my striving, I chose to pause and embrace that mystery of a perfection I will never have... at least not for now. My new CD is a piece of that 'someone' that I know I've got to be. And I look forward to sharing more of my music, and my story, with you!

The Other Side of Me

Written by Missi Hale, Terry Fritsch

Please be patient

I know I’ll make it

I know who I’ve got to be

I’m just being honest

Cause it’s hard than it seems

To break through to the other side of me

But, I’m gonna break through

Tired, of making promises that I can’t keep

Treading water till the next apology

Always feeling life is so unsure

Oh, tired, of looking in the mirror for sympathy

When I’m living on the edge of almost breaking free

Oh, I know, I know, I know there’s so much more

I know that I,

I, I’m gonna make it through

I, I’m gonna get to you

I, there’s someone I’ve gotta be

On the other side of me

Lord, I’m so tired

Of giving you the smallest part of me

After everything you’ve don’t still love half-heartedly

Oh I’ll never understand why you just wait for me

So patiently

I’ve got to get over myself, but I’ll be needing your help

Give me eyes to see, beyond

I’ve got to get over myself, but I’ll be needing your help( Repeat )

Rebel Girl

Written by Missi Hale, Brian Lecher, Terry Fritsch

She wants to be

Out of the box out of the ordinary

She wants to change the world

She won’t believe

All of the talk about limitations

She knows she’s more than

Just a girl

She won’t take the latest advice

From vogue or Cosmo she tries

To live from her heart, ya

Rebel Girl do your thing

They're gonna want the life you bring

Rebel Girl, go on, do your thing

Rebel girl, you got it right

Don’t ever drop that light so bright

Rebel girl, hold on tight

You're gonna change the world

She wants to be

A fresh color for the bigger picture

She’s gonna break the rules

She’ll be unseen

Before she caters to the latest fashions

She’s got her own kind of cool

She won’t take the latest advice

From MTV or the movies she tries

To live from her heart, ya

This narrow road will get rough (but you’re not alone)

It’s gonna hurt sometimes to rise above (but you’re not alone)

There’s beauty in not blending in

There’s beauty when a life’s complete in him

In a rebel girl

Piece Me Together

Written by Missi Hale, Cami Leinhard

There isn’t any question

As to why I’m a mess inside

I’ve searched other places

All for the rest I need to find

I wait in this chaos

Clearly I created it for myself

The answer is simple

Oh Lord I need Your help

So, piece me together

Put me right back where you want me

Cause You are forever

And this is only temporary

I thought seeing was believing

But on my own, I’ve seen enough

I know your desire is

To see all I know get to my heart

So, piece me together

Put me right back where you want me

Cause You are forever

And this is only temporary

Can't Live to Please

Written by Missi Hale, Gary Sadler, Sarah Sadler

What is wrong and

What is right well

You always seem to know

In my heart and

In my mind I

Let my feelings show

You ask me to give and

I do cause I love you

I watch you just take

As pieces of me turn to heartache

I can’t live to please

Gotta think on my own

Need to see what it’s like

What it’s like on the other side

I can’ t live to please

Always lost in your shadow

Won’t change who I am

I can’t live to please you

So tell me baby

What can save you

All you have is pride

I know you love me

You know I love you

But that don’t make it right

I can’t live to please

Gotta think on my own

Need to see what it’s like

What it’s like on the other side

I can’ t live to please

Always lost in your shadow

Won’t change who I am

I can’t live to please you

So take a look and you will see that

You don’t get he heart of me

Maybe try to understand

That I can’t live, no I can’t live

Made to Shine

Written by Missi Hale, Terry Fritsch

When hope deferred feels like hope has gone

And when everyone you trust, has done you wrong

When you think about your life as a sad sad song

Just remember

We were made to shine

We were made to overcome

We were made for life

We were made for love

A love that will keep us strong

So shine on, shine on

Now when you feel your soul has been burnt out

By the many many winds that push you down

Don’t give up there’s so much more

Than this temporary here and now

We were made to shine

We were made to overcome

We were made for life

We were made for love

A love that will keep us strong

So shine on, shine on

There’s a yearning deep inside of us

That longs to shine, longs to shine

There’s a yearning within, all of us

That we were made for, we were created for

Shine on, shine on, shine on and on
