Dr. Carson is a nationally recognized expert in the fields of eating disorders, weight management, exercise physiology and child obesity. He is the Clinical Nutritional Advisor of the Renaissance Eating Disorder Center of Hattiesburg Mississippi and the Nutritional Director of the Weight Management Program of the Alabama Pain Center, Huntsville, Alabama. He has also served as the Clinical Nutritional Consultant to the University of Tennessee Women's Athletic program, and was the woman's sports nutritional consultant for Oprah Winfrey's Internet site.
As a research expert in the fields of weight management, nutritional development, and exercise physiology. Dr. Carson is a nationally sought after speaker in the areas of nutrition and weight management.
Dr. Carson is currently teaming with the Renaissance Eating Disorder Treatment Center of Hattiesburg, Mississippi on the “Monarch Experience” which when implemented, will be one of the first SOLUTION BASED child obesity programs in America.
His teaching credits include the University of Alabama in Huntsville, Auburn University, and Tuskegee University.
Dr. Carson is a Board Member of the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals. He is also a member of the American Association of Bariatric Surgeons and a Registered Dietitian with the American Dietetic Association. He is a Licensed Dietitian with the State of Alabama.
He earned his BS degree from Duke University and his BHS degree in Pathology from Duke University, School of Medicine. He received his BS degree in Food & Nutrition from Oakwood College and he earned his PhD degree in Nutrition from Auburn University, where he was a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.
