Get Involved!

One of the cool things about this work is that God seems to move in the hearts of so many who have been impacted by these issues and feel led to get involved in some way. We want to help facilitate that involvement, and have three primary ways of doing that.

First - Get on our lists

We have four different lists you can add your name to which will allow you to feel more connected to what’s happening both on a big-picture and community level.

1. Fb Newsletter - Monthly

Looking for some inspiration and encouragement to help you pursue a richer, more balanced life? Our email newsletter is free, and includes helpful articles, updates about what we’re doing, links to new items on the site, and store specials available only to newsletter subscribers. Sent every one to three months. Sent monthly.

See sign up box to the right... --->

2. "Fb Gatherings" List – Weekly

Three out of four women have eating issues. Isn't it time we came out of hiding? If you are seeking a healthier relationship with food and your body sign up for our Fb Gathering newsletter list to learn about our new weekly download service designed to be used in individual or small group settings. Each week's message from Constance details the theme for that week, as well as information about new groups in your area. You can also learn more about this by visiting the Fb Gathering section of the site. (Professionals: Feel free to add your name and forward our messages to your clients who may benefit).

3. Prayer List

We believe that prayer is an essential part of the work we are doing, and we invite anyone who has a heart for prayer to join us in lifting up important details and decisions. If that sounds like you, please add your name below.

4. "Get Involved" List

As outlined on our “non-$ giving” page, we need people who want to be mouthpieces and connectors for the work we’re doing. Those who add their name to this list will receive special updates featuring ways for you to help advance our mission. (Note: this is also the “raise up an army” list referred to in Constance’s blog…)

*Privacy Notice: Your privacy is important to us. Because of this, we do not under any circumstances sell, share, or otherwise distribute our email lists to any third parties.

Second – Become a Monthly Supporter

Most healthy non-profit organizations operate on the 80/20 giving rule: 80% of funding comes from everyday people making small, regular donations to the cause, and the remaining 20% comes from "bigger" gifts, such as grants from a foundation, corporate sponsorships and the like. As a new non-profit, we are in the stage of building that first 80%, which will put us in a position to be able to begin pursuing the other 20%. Whether you can give $5, $10, $25 or more each month, the important thing is that you do as God leads you. Every little bit does indeed help, particularly when on a monthly basis.

Announcing the "100/25" challenge (and a gift)...

If you want to get in on a specific fundraising goal here at Fb, you might consider joining the "100/25" challenge - 100 monthly sponsors at $25/month. When that goal is met, we will be in a position to begin offering sliding scale at our Franklin, TN community center. The purpose of this is two-fold: 1) we'll be able to help people see quality counselors, nutritionists, and others in the healing community for a fraction of typical costs, and 2) our Franklin office will become the "model" for other centers to be opened around the country. It's a HUGE goal but very manageable when you break it down to 100 people.

The Art of Being

As a special gift, all who sign up for the "100/25" challenge in March will receive a free copy of Constance's beautiful gift book, The Art of Being, which features original essays from artists including Sara Groves, Ginny Owens, Jars of Clay, Switchfoot, Over the Rhine, Gloria Gaither, Phil Keaggy, MuteMath and others.

PLEASE NOTE: If you don't feel you can commit to a monthly gift, a one-time gift is a wonderful blessing as well!

Thank you for your consideration. Click here to donate.

Third – Check out our Volunteer Needs

Here is where we post current volunteer needs. If you are interested in filling a need, please send a cover letter, resume, and references to getinvolved@findingbalance.com. Please allow 2-3 days for a response. (If you want to stay apprised of these postings as they are updated, be sure to sign up on the “Get Involved” email list, #4 above).

Publicity/Media Relations

To grow, we need help securing local (Nashville) and national TV, Radio and Print media, particularly in the Christian Market. We are seeking someone who is a self-starter with a good reputation in the field. You should have experience writing press releases, and contacts to send them to. Will involve an initial call/meeting (1.5 hours), and then 1 - 3 hours per week maintenance, with a bi-weekly or monthly call/meeting for continued strategy and development.

Graphic Design

Right now we have some specific graphic design needs, including a banner for trade shows, a fundraising brochure, and (the big one) a redesign of the Fb site to make it easier to find what you’re looking for. This can be one volunteer, or two, depending on your skills (i.e. print and/or web). Estimated time needs - a few hours a week, bunched together for key projects. Calls/meetings as needed based on project.

Video Production

We have long needed a video that will tell the story of Fb. There are so many cool things that have happened, and many stories we could tell. If you’ve got experience in this area and would like to help us while expanding your portfolio/reel, we’d love to know. Would also be a great internship project for those of you in school for video production. Estimated time req. - probably about 30 - 40 hours total project time including meetings, development, filming, and postproduction. Shorter for more experienced individuals.

Audio Production

We have begun recording podcasts but lack the time and experience to quickly post them to i-tunes and/or other outlets, as well as here on the site. If you have experience in this area and can give about 5 – 10 hours per month, please let us know. Could turn into a paid position.

Bookkeeping

We have limited bookkeeping needs, but enough that taking care of them takes too much time from our limited schedule. If you are a bookkeeper and/or CPA in the Nashville area and have experience working with non-profits, we’d LOVE to talk to you. Est. time req. - 1-5 hours/month including a call or two each month. Volunteer or paid options on this one.

Fundraising

We have a mission of changing the world, and we know that there are many who would have the means and desire to join us. But we don’t know how to find those folks. The right candidate for this volunteer position is a person who “gets” the world of development and wants to help connect people with the work we’re doing. Est. time req. - probably a few hours a month, including calls/meetings on a bi-weekly or monthly schedule, based on your connections/desire/availability.
