"Friends of Fb" Auxiliary Board

Guided by the CEO, “Friends of Fb” – FINDINGbalance’s auxiliary board – are the ground troops for our efforts. These are the folks you are most likely to interact with if you decide to become a part of our work on a volunteer basis, or if you join our prayer team.

Krista Barmer – Panel Questions

Krista Barmer is the Founder and COO of Swerve Press, an independent publishing company. Since graduating Magna Cum Laude from Middle Tennessee State University with her English and Writing degree, Krista has used her skills in administrative assistance and staff writing for top companies like Caterpillar and Dave Ramsey. As a woman who has battled EDNOS, Krista understands the unique challenges of recovering from a mind-body disorder. This appreciation is what led her to be one of nine women to appear in a video for the True Campaign. Krista currently serves as manager for Fb’s online “Panel Questions” department, fielding and posting the hundreds of questions we receive. Krista lives in Franklin, Tennessee with her husband Jason and is expecting her first child in 2009. Her first book, As Is: Unearthing Commonplace Glory, releases in March 2009. For a taste of Krista's writing style, you can visit her blog www.pendrops.com.

Alyssa Baumann – Volunteer Coordinator

In 2006 Alyssa Baumann moved from San Diego, CA to Nashville to spend a year working for Habitat for Humanity as a volunteer coordinator. With a passion for ministering to young women in high school and college, she believes that God uses the experience of our personal struggles as a platform for our ministry to others. She is currently pursuing her Masters in Counseling at Trevecca Nazarene University and hopes to use that experience to serve on staff with a ministry that will allow her to help young women through building Christ-centered relationships.

Lee Wolfe Blum – Speaking and Events

Lee Wolfe Blum is a Health Educator at Park Nicollet Eating Disorders Institute in Minneapolis, MN. In addition to her job with patients, she runs a weekly support group at the hospital for friends and family of eating disorder strugglers. After almost losing her life to an eating disorder and depression thirteen years ago, Lee now shares her story of her struggle and recovery at colleges, churches, and schools around the United States. She also has written a memoir titled Accidental Peace that she hopes to have published soon, and writes two blogs, "You, Me and Ed" at the Gurze website and Fitness Mama. Originally from Kansas, Lee now lives in Minnesota with her husband Chris and three boys. She has served Fb since 2004 in various capacities.

Michelle Watson, PhD, LPC – Prayer Coordinator

Michelle Watson has had a private counseling practice in Tigard, OR for over a decade and specializes in eating disorders, trauma recovery, and adolescent therapy. Her investment in the topic of eating disorders is borne out of her own battle with an eating disorder for close to 10 years and from seeing a sister seriously affected by anorexia. Now she speaks and teaches on eating disorders and issues relating to identity at schools (public and private), churches, camps, and retreats. Michelle is also an adjunct faculty member at a local college in which she teaches in a graduate eating disorders program. She is a worship leader at a large church in Beaverton, Oregon and celebrates that God uses her to help usher the body of Christ into God’s presence through worship in song.
